Hangg, Inc. ("Hangg," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use the Hangg mobile application, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you register, we collect your phone number, display name, username, and optional profile photo.
• Profile Information: You may optionally provide additional information such as a bio or relationship status.
• User Content: Photos, videos, messages, and other content you create, upload, or share through the Service.
• Communications: Messages sent within Circles, poll responses, and event RSVPs.
• Feedback: Information you provide when you contact us for support or submit feedback.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: With your explicit permission, we collect precise GPS location data to verify attendance at hangouts. Location data is used for proximity-based verification and is not continuously tracked outside of active hangout sessions. You may revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Service, including features accessed, timestamps, and session duration.
• Log Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and error reports.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

• Authentication Providers: We use Firebase Authentication to verify your phone number. We receive a unique identifier and phone number from Firebase but do not receive or store your SMS verification codes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Service Operation: To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including user authentication, Circle management, hangout creation, and memory sharing.
• Location Verification: To verify physical attendance at hangouts using GPS-based proximity clustering. Location data is processed in real time and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
• Aura Scoring: To calculate consistency scores based on verified hangout attendance.
• Communications: To send push notifications about Circle activity, event updates, friend requests, and system messages. You can manage notification preferences in your account settings.
• Safety and Security: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access to accounts.
• Analytics: To understand usage patterns and improve the Service. We use aggregated, de-identified data for analytics purposes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• With Other Users: Your profile information, Circle membership, and content you post are visible to other users according to your privacy settings. Hangout verification status is visible to Circle members.
• Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting (Google Cloud Platform), authentication (Firebase), and media storage (Google Cloud Storage). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
• With Your Consent: We may share information for purposes not described in this Privacy Policy with your explicit consent.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL
• Secure authentication with JWT tokens and Firebase
• Rate limiting and access controls on API endpoints
• Regular security assessments and monitoring

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information and account.
• Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data.
• Location Permissions: You may disable location services at any time through your device settings. Note that disabling location services will prevent hangout verification features from functioning.
• Notifications: You may opt out of push notifications through your device settings or in-app preferences.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate.

9. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
